Meet the Baker
Valeria's Bread Garden began at our own kitchen table, born from love and a little bit out of necessity.
It started with a simple frustration. Even at Whole Foods, Sprouts, and the nicest grocery stores, almost every loaf was packed with things bread was never meant to contain: dough conditioners, preservatives, added sugars, and industrial seed oils like canola, soybean, and sunflower oil. Real bread needs only a few honest ingredients, just flour, water, salt, and time. And the rare loaves that kept it that simple? They were priced like a luxury.
But it became personal. Store-bought bread was quietly hurting our family. Valeria's husband suffered from debilitating eczema, with painful flare-ups that would crack and bleed and never seem to heal. The culprit, it turned out, was the bread he ate nearly every day. And yet bread is one of life's great comforts, woven into almost every meal, and so hard to give up.
So Valeria decided to make it herself, from scratch, with nothing but real ingredients and a living sourdough starter nurtured day by day. What began as a solution grew into a genuine love of baking. Her husband's eczema cleared completely, friends and family fell for every loaf, and Valeria's Bread Garden was born. Every loaf we bake is still made the same way: simply, patiently, and with love.
